I spent too much time in regret
Even though we ran so far
Somehow we still remain convinced
That we haven’t got there yet

But looking back I see what’s true
And apology’s not my intent
Instead of running for my life
I see I should have run to you

Were you ever that far away?
That I couldn’t hold you close
Was there ever a reason to stay?
Other than living the life I chose

Funny how miles between us
Could never make us separate
Now we’re hear in the same room
And some how we can’t relate

Well, I can finally, really see
We’re right where we should be
If we can give and just let go
Nothing’s as hard as it may seem

So please don’t try to go back
There’s nothing there for us to learn
Don’t even try to look ahead
Further than you’re prepared to earn

One thing I think I know for sure
Regret will make us sick inside
If we have no place else to turn
Then in ourselves we must confide

So save a place inside your heart
I’ll save a place inside my soul
So if we find ourselves apart
I’ll run to you to make us whole
